EastEnders fans complain soap needs to 'hurry up' Cindy Beale's return

fans have complained the soap needs to stop dragging out the hotly anticipated return of fan favourite Cindy Beale ().

At the end of Thursday’s episode, a shocking new trailer was aired and gave eager fans a glimpse at Cindy’s upcoming dramatic return to Walford.

However, on Tuesday night there were only a handful of scenes of Cindy on the One programme.

One scene simply showed her lying by the pool and revealing her plans to return to Albert Square to reclaim the Beale business empire.

Viewers took to Twitter to complain at the lack of screentime for the character and say they were becoming ‘bored’ as they awaited her arrival in Albert Square.

Exciting: At the end of Thursday’s episode, a shocking new trailer was aired and gave eager fans a glimpse at Cindy’s upcoming dramatic return to Walford

One person said: ‘If you lot don’t hurry up this Cindy storyline.’

While another agreed, saying: ‘This whole Cindy storyline is dragging on.’

And a third echoed: ‘Once again I’m bored of the Knight family.Wish they’d hurry up with this Cindy Beale storyline.’

Other viewers poked fun at her ‘ridiculous’ cover story from her years away from the soap, with most adding they were counting down the days until Cindy was back in Walford.

‘Looking forward to seeing Cindy return’, said one viewer.

The stalling of Cindy’s return can be partially blamed on the World Athletics Championship shaking up EastEnders’ schedule.

The soap will only be airing twice this week, on Tuesday and Thursday, as the BBC dedicates the soap’s slot deposit dana to covering live programing from the sports event in Budapest.

The BBC will air a double bill of each episode by making them an hour long.

It was revealed in June thatwith her ex-husband Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) and their son Peter (Thomas Law).

Fans were led to believe that the mother died in childbirth after plotting to kill her then-husband, however it turns out that 26 years later Cindy is very much alive and has been living a glamorous life in the sun.

Limited screentime: However, on Tuesday night there were only a handful of scenes of Cindy with one simply showing her lying by the pool and revealing her plans to return to Albert Square to reclaim the Beale business empire

In the exciting trailer, Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) looked utterly stunned as Cindy entered the house, despite being presumed dead.

The pair famously despised one another after Cindy cheated on Kathy’s son Ian with David Wickes, and it has been teased that the pair will once again go head-to-head upon Cindy’s return.

And their tense row was teased as Cindy made her grand entrance, with Kathy sharing her shock as she said: ‘You’re dead!’

Clearly no longer ‘dead’, Cindy is set to bring chaos to the BBC soap as she steps back onto Albert Square after claiming she had always wanted to visit.

In the 30-second trailer, Kathy warned everyone against her schemes as her daughter-in-law made her way around Walford.

She wasn’t the only one warning the residents against her as Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean) reminds Ian  that Cindy has always been deceitful.

It is unclear who Ian is trying to convince but he insisted in one moment: ‘This time it’s different!’

‘You’re dead!’ In exciting scenes mother-in-law Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) looks utterly stunned as Cindy enters the house

Wow: Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean) reminds Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) that Cindy has always been deceitful. It is unclear who Ian is trying to convince but he insists: ‘This time it’s different!’

Cindy supposedly died while serving time in prison for hiring a hitman to kill Ian.

But it appears she has been living a double life in witness protection under the moniker ‘Rose Knight’.

In a further twist, she was revealed to be the absent wife of Queen Vic landlord George Knight (Colin Salmon), and mother to their two daughters Gina (Francesca Henry) and Anna (Molly Rainford).

Elsewhere in the exciting trailer, George was seen looking at a photograph of ‘Rose’ – the name Cindy went by when she was in a relationship with him.

The identity of Queen Vic landlord George Knight’s ex-wife had been kept under wraps, but a teaser at the end of Wednesday’s episode showed Cindy picking up George’s call while sprawled out poolside on a sun lounger in France.

Stunned: In the trailer, Anna and Gina (pictured) walk through the market completely oblivious to the fact they are about to come face to face with their mother after all this time (pictured with George)

George could be seen pouring himself a brandy and playing Seal’s Kiss From A Rose on the pub jukebox before the scene cut to Cindy, confirming weeks of suspicion over Rose’s true identity.

In the trailer, giggling Anna and Gina walk through the market completely oblivious to the fact they are about to come face to face with their mother after all this time.

Cindy will be forced to do some explaining as she returns for a week of episodes at the end of the month will cover the storyline.

The comeback will spark more drama which will then kick off in the autumn.
