You can use Nearby Share to share photos, files, links, or other content with people around you. On your phone, go to the content you want to share in any app.
Enables seamless nearby interactions such as multiplayer gaming, Realtime collaboration, forming a group, broadcasting a resource, or sharing content.
Both apps have a similar file-sharing experience. When you share a file using Google Nearby Share, it first uses Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and location permissions. But it turns off Bluetooth after the pairing request and uses Wi-Fi to transfer files which is faster.
With Nearby Share, you can immediately send and receive files from devices close to your location.
To keep your phone safe, you should not only turn off nearby device scanning on your phone, but take steps to make sure other devices can’t find your phone. Android uses a feature called Nearby Share (on Apple, it’s Air Drop) that is used to share links, photos, and files between devices.
